Man in stolen SUV arrested after chase, shootout, SWAT standoff in Gwinnett County

A Gwinnett County sheriff’s deputy was wounded in a shootout with a man in a stolen SUV who investigators stated led law enforcement officers on a chase just before barricading himself in the automobile.

Just immediately after 5 p.m., officers spotted the stolen SUV near the intersection of Pleasant Hill Street and Sweetwater Push. Officers tried to stop the vehicles, but the driver took off.
