NEW HAVEN — Savvy use of social media and one particular woman’s charity has helped furnish and renovate the most recent iteration of transitional housing for the homeless.

Christian Local community Action is marking the completion of 18 upgraded residences in the previous Ivy College in Newhallville that in excess of two many years had helped house somewhere around 275 households through its Stepping Stone system.

That system closed in 2018 when the federal Office of Housing and City Enhancement switched priorities and focused on acquiring people today enduring homeless into housing, but not automatically with the wraparound solutions that characterised Stepping Stone.
