1 dead Friday night after shooting at Olympia apartments

A person was shot and killed Friday night after an altercation at an condominium elaborate, Olympia police say.

The sufferer died at the scene. His autopsy is established for Tuesday, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock mentioned Sunday.

About 9:40 p.m. Friday, law enforcement ended up dispatched to residences in the 600 block of Pattison Street Southeast and arrived to uncover a man useless in the foyer of the developing, Lt. Paul Lower explained.

According to witnesses, the man, described as “highly agitated,” was triggering a disturbance with other residents outdoors the foyer, Lessen stated.

He then entered the foyer, confronted a man sitting down in a chair, and brandished a big knife. The person in the chair drew a handgun and told the other gentleman to again absent, Decreased said.

In accordance to law enforcement, the gentleman with the knife charged the male in the chair, who fired at least two rounds, killing him.

The shooter then handed his gun to another man or woman in the lobby and law enforcement were being known as to the scene.

Detectives also responded and have corroborated the shooter’s assertion of the incident, Decreased said.

The shooter’s identity is known to law enforcement and the Thurston County Prosecutor’s Place of work is conscious of what transpired Friday night. At this time, the shooter is not in custody, Lower said.

The case continues to be less than investigation, he mentioned.
